AN-114 Operating Room Table Clamp (for use with transducer mount)

The AN-114 OR table clamp is the most popular in a series of clamps in our product line. It is designed to hold a round bar (1/2" diameter) clamped vertically to the equipment hanger bar which is located on the sides and/or the head of an operating table. The round 1/2" bars can be straight or offset (e.g. AN-126) depending on their intended use in the operating room. They are used to hold transducers, manifolds, syringe holders and many other devices.

(Other clamps are available with different features - see additional clamps under Options below)

FEATURES:
  • The clamp body and knobs are made of a strong, highly corrosion resistant aluminum alloy with a conversion coating to increase surface hardness. All other fittings are made of stainless steel.
  • The two knobs are 'captured' so they cannot fall off (a feature common to all of our equipment).
  • The clamshell halves readily adjust to clamp onto the equipment hanger bars of both American and European tables (fits hanger bars to 0.430" thick and from 0.960" to 1.600" wide or to 1.830" wide if slid on from the bar end).
  • The vertical bar may be adjusted and clamped independently of the attachment to the the operating table.
  • While the vertical bar is firmly clamped to the operating table, the outer end of an offset bar and any device clamped to the bar will rotate if it is hit briskly. This feature is designed to help protect both personnel from injury and the clamped device from being damaged. Most other manufacturers clamps used in the operating room are designed to provide so much clamping pressure that this rotation is prevented.
OPTIONS:
  • The equipment hanger bars (or ridges) on some special procedure tables may be of a dimension which is outside of the adjustment range of the standard clamp. If a simple hand-drawn dimensioned sketch is submitted, we can furnish a suitably modified clamp to fit your application. If the required modification can be made to a standard clamp, the additional charge will be minimal.
  • Additional clamps in this series:

AN-115 - In addition to the features of AN-114, this clamp also allows lockable rotation about the long axis of the OR table equipment hanger bar. This is especially useful for those procedures in which the clamp is most conveniently placed on the bar of a table section which must be tilted. The clamped 1/2" bar may then be independently adjusted to remain vertical.

AN-116 - This clamp will attach to the top of a table head segment which does not have a bar. It attaches to a table which has a flat surface with a vertical downward pointing flange (it will also fit a side bar). It is especially useful for those procedures which might have a device obstructing a space along the side.
A more versatile option might be to fit an equipment bar to the top edge of the table (some tables are furnished this way). The AN-114 clamp could then be used (which would eliminate the requirement for a special purpose unit). We can supply a bar complete with the mounting hardware (please consult us for measurement instructions). With prior arrangement for immediate turnaround, we can also install a bar to a table head segment.

AN-117 - This clamp is a version of the AN-116 which has lockable rotation in the long axis of the bar or ledge to which it is clamped.

  • Other Clamps:

OP-152 - This is a heavy duty aluminum unit that independently clamps two round bars of the same or different user specified diameters perpendicular to each other. Split collars hug the bars tightly without marring them. The handles are an articulated bar type which can generate high torque but are easy to use. They also fold to reduce the clearance that is required. If the handles are loosened slightly past the neutral position, they force the collar open which prevents the bars from sticking.

OP-153 - This clamp is similar to the OP-152 with an additional feature which allows the angle between the two bars to be infinitely varied and locked.

  • We would be pleased to consider designing a clamp for your specific application if one of the above does not meet your requirements.
